CD Projekt Red bans unauthorized Keanu Reeves sex in Cyberpunk 2077
Following the creation of a Cyberpunk 2077 fan mod that allowed players to have sex with actor Keanu Reeves’ character, Johnny Silverhand, CD Projekt Red kindly requested modders to stop making Keanu Reeves into a sex object.
Although CD Projekt Red stated that user-generated content cannot be “harmful towards others”, they did mention the following: “In the case of model swaps, especially those that involve explicit situations, it can be perceived as such by the people who lent us their appearance for the purpose of creating characters in Cyberpunk 2077.”
This probably means that Reeves and his management did not appreciate the Nexus Mods files that swapped a sex worker model for Johnny Silverhand, allowing players to have intercourse with Reeves’ digital image. Even though there is a sex scene involving Keanu Reeves in the original Cyberpunk 2077 content, but this is seen from Johnny Silverhand’s perspective instead of the other way around.
CD Projekt Red expanded on their remarks: “For the characters we’ve invented for the game, we broadly permit you to tweak the game at will and just have fun. When it comes to models of real people whom we’ve asked to participate in the game, we kindly ask you to refrain from using them in any situation that might be found offensive if you don’t have their explicit permission.”
