Ubisoft’s extreme sports game Riders Republic delayed to later this year
Developer and publisher Ubisoft announced that their extreme sports game, Riders Republic, will release later this year. The massively multiplayer game was first announced during an Ubisoft Forward presentation last year and would initially have launched in February. The delay was made public via the Twitter account of Riders Republic, stating that the additional time will allow the passionate team to deliver “the best fun fuelled experience” to their players.
As for now, there are no specifics on why the game was delayed. Ubisoft also didn’t communicate a new release date for the virtual outdoor playground. What we do know is that Riders Republic will feature some of the most iconic national parks in the United States, such as Yosemite Valley and Mammoth Mountain. Players will be able to explore these virtual wildernesses on ski’s, bikes, snowboards, gliders, wingsuits and even on foot. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Annecy, the same studio as the sports game Steep, and will be an evolved and extended version of the 2016 winter sports game.
Riders Republic will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S and Xbox One later this year.
